Another Day

Just another day in the life
of me. Woman, mother, poet
and countless other things
That go unnoticed in
this daily routine that
I live. So time and again
I try to bend this set of rules
that I’ve made for myself
Maybe this is me
trying to meet a need
to be seen, or maybe it’s passion
I seek. More likely it’s a way
to break free from the monotony
of these endlessly insipid minds
that I find so completely unappealing
But can I obtain
the relief that I need
In the temporary trappings
of this week’s distraction
My attraction to challenge
makes it hard to resist
but something tells me
there is more than this
Guess I’ll wait and see
Because who can say
where things might lead
on another day in the life
of me.

Wishing I could see

Wondering
if what I’d find
might coincide
with the interesting
thoughts in mine
But at this time
these thoughts might be
The kind
that should be kept
unseen, untold
until the moment they unfold
most naturally

The Question Is

Fear causing my skin to tingle
Every single word, glance, thought
Racing through my mind
Dissecting every possibility
All of this
Strangely attracting me
To this unsought experience
Now I’m contemplating my own undoing
I must be delirious
To be thinking these thoughts
that shouldn’t be thought
At least not for now
But the question is
How to resist this threat
To my established existence
Or maybe the better question is
If I even want to
